More Information
The Reclaim Energy heat pump has been developed by 2 stand out players in the hot water industry:
- Apricus Australia – the original manufacturer of premium, high-efficiency evacuated tube solar hot water systems with a proven track record of delivering solar in Australian conditions.
- Chofu – the Japanese global manufacturing giant with over 20 years experience in producing class-leading heat pump technology.
The Heat Pump earns the greatest number of STC certificates (Federal) and VEEC certificates (Victorian) for any heat pump system on the market meaning savings of up to $2500-$3000 off the cost of this system for Victorian customers changing over from electric storage tanks.
The Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump caters for all Australian conditions and environments, with the glass lined enamel tank suitable for all water types including high mineral and bore water. The premium stainless steel tanks are our preferred option for all other applications with its class-leading 15 year tank warranty and the option of a tall or squat tank for tight areas including indoor tank installations. No matter where you live there is a solution for you.
Tanks come in 250 or 315 litres so there is plenty of hot water even for the largest households.

- Does the Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System require the assistance of an electric backup/booster element to heat water, when outside temperatures are very low?
No, the Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System does not require an electric booster element
- At what temperatures will the Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System operate effectively?
The Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System will operate effectively between -10ºC and 43ºC, without the need for an electric backup/booster element. It is also fitted with an inbuilt freeze protection, making it suitable for all Australian conditions and climate variations.
- What is the noise level of the Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System?
The CO2 Heat Pump is rated at 37dB, measured at 1m distance from the unit, which is whisper quiet, practically silent.
- How does a CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System work?
The Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System operates like a refrigerator in reverse. It contains a fan that forces air through an evaporator that contains a refrigerant. The heat in the air passes through the evaporator and is absorbed by a natural refrigerant, CO2. The warm gaseous refrigerant is circulated in the system via a compressor. As it passes through the compressor, its pressure rises, as does its temperature. This hot refrigerant then passes through a heat exchanger to heat the water, which is finally pumped to the storage tank.

The Reclaim Heat Pump, available from G Store, is an exceptional hot water system that provides an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional electric water heaters. It is a cutting-edge heat pump that can help you save on electricity bills by using significantly less energy while delivering a higher thermal output. Unlike traditional electric water heaters that generate heat through electrical resistance, heat pumps use a different, more energy-efficient approach. They extract heat from the surrounding environment, such as the air or ground, and transfer it to the water, providing a much more efficient way to heat water.
The Reclaim Heat Pump is designed to leverage this efficiency to the fullest. By utilising the heat in the air, it consumes significantly less electricity than conventional electric water heaters, which directly convert electricity into heat. This results in substantial energy savings and, consequently, reduced electricity costs for your household.
With Reclaim Heat Pump, you’ll get to enjoy the following:
- Low Energy Consumption
- High Thermal Output
- Environmental Benefits
- Government Incentives
